How a YardSnaps design happens

    Talk it through

    Start with the free 20-minute online consultation. We look at what you have, what is bothering you about it, and whether a design is even the right spend right now.

    We read the site

    For Metro Atlanta projects a designer comes out and analyzes the space — sun, slope, drainage, what the house wants. Remote clients send photos and an address so we can work out the sunlight exposure.

    You see it first

    We build the design over a photograph of your actual yard, or as a 3D model you can view from many different directions. Not a mood board of somebody else’s garden — yours.

    Change your mind on screen

    Every package includes revisions. Moving a tree costs nothing at this stage. Moving a planted tree costs a weekend.

What we need from you

A good photograph of the area to be designed — taken square-on, in decent light, showing the whole area plus a bit of context. A description of what the space needs to do: curb appeal, screening an ugly view, somewhere to sit, somewhere for the children. And the property address, because we use it to work out how much sun the space actually gets, which is what drives plant selection more than anything else.

What sun mapping actually changes

Plant labels say “full sun” and “partial shade”, and in Georgia those two categories cover very different realities. Knowing where your property sits and how the house shades it through the day is the difference between a border that thrives and one that gets replaced in year two.

What you get back

A full-color digital design of your space. Depending on the package that is a photo-realistic overlay on your own photograph, a 3D model you can tour online, or a large-format 2D CAD plan with a hardscape plan, a planting plan and material lists. Add the itemized plant list and the nursery run becomes a shopping list.

Revisions, and why they are the point

QuickSnap includes two rounds. 3D Snaps includes three. Blueprint Snaps includes four. This is where the value sits — moving a tree on screen costs nothing, and moving a planted tree costs a weekend and a plant.

Optional hard copy

Everything is delivered digitally by default, which is what most people want — it opens on the phone in the garden center and it forwards to a contractor in one click. If you would rather have the design in your hands, we can print it. Hard copies are optional and are charged in addition to the design; ask when you order and we will price the print for the size and the number of sheets your design needs.

Then it is yours

Build it yourself. Hand it to your own contractor to price — the material lists exist precisely so a builder can quote it accurately. Or have us install it. We do not gate the drawing behind an install contract.

What actually lands in your inbox

Delivery is primarily digital. Your design, plans, plant list and material schedule arrive as files you can open on a phone in the nursery aisle, forward to a contractor, or print yourself. Physical prints are available at an extra cost — large-format hard copies of the plan, priced by size and sheet count. Ask for them when you order. Labeled images can be requested for QuickSnaps and 3D designs; Blueprint Snaps include labeling as standard.

Questions people ask before they book

What exactly is photo-imaging?
We take a photograph of your actual yard and build the design on top of it — real plants, at the size they will be, in the position they will occupy. You are not looking at a picture of somebody else’s garden and imagining yours. You are looking at yours.
Is this AI?
No. Every design is drawn by a designer working from photographs of your own property, and it is judged against the things software cannot see — how much sun that bed actually gets, what the ground does after rain, what is already growing there and how big it will be in five years. An AI image generator makes a picture that looks like a garden: plausible plants, no species, no sizes, nothing you can buy. What you get here is a design you can act on — real species by botanical name, real mature sizes, real quantities, in the positions they will occupy, with a plant list you can hand to a nursery. The one place software takes the first pass is AP Design, which is labeled as such and is a starting point to react to rather than a finished design.
How much does a landscape design cost?
Published prices start at $95. QuickSnap is $95 for a planting design, QuickSnap Plus is $170 once hardscape is involved, 3D Mini Snap is $250 per snap, 3D Snaps start at $450 and Blueprint Snaps at $565. Add-ons are $25 for an itemized plant list and $45 for the labeled design option. There is no fixed ceiling — a design can run upwards of $1,000 depending on the complexity of the design and the size of the project. The free online consultation is where we work out which end of that you are at, before you commit to anything.
Do I have to use you to install it?
No. Plenty of clients take the plan and the plant list and build it themselves, or hand it to their own contractor — that is exactly what the documents are for. We do install, and we are happy to quote it, but the design stands on its own.
Do you work outside Metro Atlanta?
Yes. The design work is delivered digitally, so we can work with clients anywhere in the US, and there is a 10% discount when a project is handled 100% remotely. How long does it take?
AP Design comes back the same day — that is an experimental, AI-assisted first pass, complimentary with a paid consultation, and it does not include revisions. QuickSnap designs come back in two to three days. 3D Snaps and Blueprint Snaps take one to two weeks. Every paid package includes revision rounds and unlimited communication in between.
What do you need from me to start?
A good photograph of the area to be designed, a description of what you want it to do, and the property address — we use the address to work out sunlight exposure patterns, which drives plant selection. A phone number helps in case we have questions.
Is the on-site consultation fee wasted if I go ahead?
No. The cost of the consultation is deducted from the cost of any design package, with the exception of the Premier and Prime Landscape Snaps.
Can you help me buy the plants?
Yes, two ways. The itemized plant list turns the nursery run into a shopping list, and our Personal Retail Nursery Assistant will meet you at the garden center to help choose, advise, and possibly load your vehicle.
